Linking knowledge and experience among WVU experts and residents, Extension reaches communities in all 55 counties to offer programming, training and opportunities that help improve the lives and livelihoods of all West Virginians.

WVU Medicine

The state’s largest health system and largest private employer includes 24 hospitals across the state (and continuing to grow and expand), 5 world-renowned institutes and 3 health sciences campuses.

WVU Athletics

WVU Athletics is home to All-Americans, All-Conference Performers, the Pride of West Virginia Marching Band, a die-hard fan base and indelible game-day traditions. The department empowers student athletes to develop as leaders and achieve their full potential academically, athletically and personally.

WVU Foundation

The WVU Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable organization that advances its philanthropic mission in support of the WVU community. In 2024, the Foundation raised a record $282.6 million. A total of 20,350 donors made 40,849 gifts to WVU from July 1, 2023, through June 30, 2024. Alumni comprised 8,536 of those donors.

Alumni Engagement

There are over 210,000 WVU graduates worldwide. Chartered in 1873, the WVU Alumni Association helps alumni in 135 nations stay connected through signature events throughout the year, such as Homecoming, the Marmaduke Dent Benefit, Alumni Leadership Institute and HAIL West Virginia.
